Bayham hires new administrator

Bayham council has hired Paul Shipway to replace former Administrator Kyle Kruger.

The final details of hiring Mr. Shipway, currently the deputy clerk of Uxbridge, were decided upon after a closed door session of the April 3 council meeting.

Mr. Shipway’s first day with Bayham will be May 6.

Mr. Kruger left Bayham for a similar position with Norwich in January.

During the public portion of the meeting, councillors directed staff to begin the official process to find a replacement for outgoing Treasurer David Aristone by placing advertisements in local publications and with municipal sector organizations.

Mr. Aristone’s last official day with Bayham was April 4 and he was to begin his new position as director of finance and treasurer with the City of St. Thomas on April 7.

Retired Central Elgin Director of Finance Sharon Larmour was recently appointed as Bayham’s interim administrator and treasurer.

She will be in place until May 6.
