Five more OPP officers on Sunshine list

The $100,000 annual salary “Sunshine” club of Ontario public sector workers increased by about 11 percent in 2013 over the year before.

The 2013 increase was about the same as the one from 2012.

Locally, five more Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police officers made over $100,000 in 2013 than the year before.

There are now 17 Elgin OPP officers on the list compared with 12 in 2012.

There were 97,796 civil servants in Ontario that made $100,000 or more in 2013 compared with 88,412 in 2012.

The number of names on the list has increased 82 percent from 2008 when there were 53,774.
