Bayham woman dead in crash

Maria Reddecopp, 54, of Bayham was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 19 north of Eden on Saturday night, June 21.

Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police Constable Ed Sanchuk said Mrs. Reddecopp was the driver of a Pontiac van travelling south on Hwy. 19 that collided with a northbound Toyota pickup truck at about 7:40 p.m. near Middleton.

Mrs. Reddecopp was pronounced dead at the scene.

An 18-year-old woman passenger in the van suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital and then transported to a London hospital for further treatment.

The driver of the pickup, a 26-year-old Tillsonburg man, received minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

He was later arrested and charged with impaired driving causing death, impaired driving causing bodily harm and driving over the legal limit.

He was to appear in Simcoe court at a later date.
