Marr, Martyn win in Central Elgin

Incumbent Deputy Mayor David Marr won election as mayor in Central Elgin on Monday, Oct. 27, defeating challenger Bill Fehr 2,505 votes to 1,424.

Councillor Sally Martyn will be the new deputy mayor, with 1,691 votes compared to Tom Marks with 1,314 and Danial Dale with 924.

Incumbent Dan McNeil was re-elected as Ward 1 councillor, besting Francie Dennison by 671 votes to 278.

In Ward 2, Dennis Crevits defeated Heather Derks 636 to 260.

In Ward 4, Harold Winkworth came out on top with 335 votes, compared to 269 for Allan Weatherall and 208 for Trent Clark.

In Ward 5, challenger Fiona Roberts upset incumbent Rob McFarlan 387 to 340.
