Recount in Bayham election?

With only seven votes separating the winning candidate and the runner-up in the Oct. 27 Ward 1 councillor election in Bayham, there was conjecture within the municipality if someone might call for a recount.

Port Burwell’s Randy Breyer was declared the official winner of the Ward 1 (Vienna and Port Burwell areas) with 164 votes over Straffordville’s Rainey Weisler who received 157 votes.

The official results of the Bayham election were posted by municipal staff on Oct. 29.

“I don’t know and I’m on the fence,” Mrs. Weisler said when asked if she or someone on her behalf was going to request a recount.
