Care packages to arrive in time for Christmas

Christmas CareAllyson Mantel, left, handed Chris Drenth a box of stuffing while he arranged the rest of the food in his box after Marian Weesjes gave him some canned vegetables during Christmas Care hamper packing at Immanuel Christian School in Aylmer on Tuesday morning, Dec. 23. Once filled by volunteers, the hampers were to be delivered to less fortunate families in Aylmer and the surrounding area just in time to prepare a full Christmas dinner. The hampers included enough food for the families to make it through the Christmas holiday season until Aylmer Corner Cupboard food bank opens again on Tuesday, Jan. 6. About 90 volunteers helped pack 350 hampers, down from the 366 delivered last year just before Christmas.
