Dexter Line project receives funding

The project to relocate Dexter Line in Malahide Township away from lakeshore erosion has received funding from the provincial government. Malahide was to receive $3,458,519 from the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF) to relocate the road and an adjacent waterline that provides Malahide and Bayham residents with municipal water from the Port Stanley water treatment plant. Elgin County and Bayham are partners in the project. Under the same Ontario funding program, Aylmer was to receive $1,437,750 to separate sanitary and storm sewers and Central Elgin $648,000 for new sanitary sewers to replace private septic systems.
