Anti-sex ed rally held in Luton

A rally organized to prAnti sex edotest proposed changes in Ontario’s sexual education curriculum in public schools was held Friday night, April 24 at Luton Community Hall southeast of Aylmer. The rally was attended by over 40 local residents. A similar event was held the next day at the same venue from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event featured a presentation on the proposed changes organizers believe includes information pupils are too young to learn. Those attending the rally were asked to sign a petition calling on the Ontario government to repeal the sex education component of the proposed health and physical education curriculum planned to be instituted in public schools in September 2015 and “start over with a meaningful parental consultation process that actually gets buy-in from parents.” Organizers believe most of the sexual content in the new curriculum should be discussed with pupils at either a later age or by parents in their own homes.
