Arrest made in Robert St. Denis homicide

A 48-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested in Chatham on Thursday, July 16 in connection with the death of Robert St. Denis, 51, whose dead body was found in his Westminster Drive home northwest of Belmont on June 25.

The suspect was charged with second degree murder.

The arrest was made by detectives with the Ontario Provincial Police’s West Region Criminal Operations and the OPP’s Emergency Response Team under the direction of Acting Detective Inspector Mark Zulinski of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.

Officers of the Middlesex OPP responded to a Westminster Drive home shortly after 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 25 and upon arrival they discovered the dead body of Mr. St. Denis.

Following a post-mortem examination the next day the investigation was deemed to be a homicide.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in a London court on Friday, July 17.

A police spokesman said the investigation could continue and asked anyone with tips or related information about the homicide to contact the OPP.
