Aylmer boy gets special Grade 8 graduation

Liam Grech, 13, right, gGrechreeted Kaylee Babcock, one of the members of the “Jeep convoy” that descended upon his Myrtle Street neighbourhood in Aylmer on Monday evening, June 27 as part of the celebration of his graduation from Grade 8 at Davenport Public School. A total of eight Jeeps and other vehicles participated in the convoy. Liam wasn’t able to celebrate his graduation from Grade 8 with the rest of his classmates at a large ceremony due to his special needs so a party was held at the Grech home instead. The graduation ceremony at the Grech residence included a specially made Star Wars themed cake, a homemade graduation mortarboard cap along with other decorations and a visit by Elgin-Middlesex-London MPP Jeff Yurek who presented Liam with a certificate from his office recognizing his graduation from Grade 8.

he couldn’t go because he has special needs? did he attent Davenport school for the whole year?… if so then why not the graduation?… so sad to see a young man left out because of special need that the school delt with all year.
I would see red if Laim was my son… to see the dissipointment he must of felt
but the community came thru and made his day so special and let him know that his special needs didn’t matter…that they cared no matter what
    shame on davenport school
shame on the teachers that allowed this young man to be left out!!!
and Bless the community that came.
