Alice (née Wereley) Gladding

GLADDING, Alice (née Wereley), of Telfer Place, Paris, formerly of St. Thomas, passed away at the Brantford General Hospital on Monday, February 4, 2019, in her 90th year.  Beloved wife for 69 years to Frederick Gladding.  Dearly loved mother of Fred Gladding (Patricia) of Paris, and Mark Gladding (Jennifer) of Fort Erie.  Dear sister of Nancy White of Aylmer.  Also survived by 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.  Alice was predeceased by 11 siblings.  Born in Aylmer, ON, November 20, 1929, she was the daughter of the late George and Ethel (née Davis) Wereley.  Alice was a former employee of Canadian Timken Ltd., Brasscraft Canada Ltd., St. Thomas, and Second Time Around, Lambeth.  She was a member of Trinity Anglican Church, St. Thomas.  Alice was an avid golfer and a former member of the Talbot Park Golf Club, St. Thomas and the Belmont Golf Club.  The funeral service was held at Trinity Anglican Church, 55 Southwick St., St. Thomas on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 11:00 a.m.  Interment in the Old St. Thomas Churchyard, Walnut Street at a later date.  Memorial donations to World Vision or Trinity Anglican Church will be gratefully acknowledged.  Arrangements entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).
