Donna Hayes (Fentie, Pilkington)

Donna Hayes (Fentie, Pilkington) May 25 1949 – November 14 2020, peacefully and surrounded by her family, Donna left this life to “dance with Jesus” on Saturday November 14th. Donna battled Alzheimer’s and Parkinsons but believed fully that God had a plan for her life. Forever remembered by husband Jim Hayes, Daughters Tricia VanGorp (Brad), Tara Gavey (Matthew), Andrea Gavey (Benjamin) as well as her grandchildren Ali, Trevor, Holly, Lydia, Sophia, Danika and Alexandra. Lovingly also remembered by her step-children Michael Hayes (Susan), Mark Hayes, David Hayes (Joanne), Justin Hayes (Karen), Rachel Hayes as well as her ‘bonus’ grandchildren Madison, Ethan, Ella, Lily, Remi, Owen, Adelyn, Elysse, Olivia and Logan. Donna will also be cherished by her siblings Carole Smith (Glen), Gerry Pilkington (Sharon), Norene Pilkington and cherished lifelong friend and father to her children Ron Fentie. She was predeceased by her parents Fred and Elva Pilkington and brother Bill Pilkington. Donna was born, raised and proud to be from Avon. She began her career at 3M (5 years) and then worked for Bruce Cole Insurance, Ingersoll, for 29 years. She called Tillsonburg home for the last 22 years and was an adherent at St. Paul’s United Church in Aylmer for many years. Donna loved gardening, walking, decorating, spending time with friends and loved to dance. Spending time with her grandchildren and children was always seen as both a priority and a privilege. She would often use vacation days and her free time to paint the homes of her friends and family. She was loving, hardworking, considerate and had the most beautiful smile with eyes that would light up a room. A private family funeral service will be held at Springfield Baptist Church on Thursday November 19th, 2020. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Donna’s daily support team (and new family) Koralee DenHarder, Tara Foster, Suzanne Toth, Michelle Hesch, and Kelsey Beer. The family is grateful for the VON nurses Derek, Jennifer and Jody.
