Genevieve Graham (nee Granger)

Passed away peacefully after a short illness at the Palermo Village Retirement Home in Oakville. Predeceased by husband George, daughter Colleen Murray, sister Helen Kennedy and brothers Charles, Bill and Loyall Granger. She is survived by daughters Lynda Ellison (Brian) and Alison Domoney (Bruce) and by sister Anna Lemon (Lyle), sister-in-law Eleanor Cox, brother-in-law Ray Kennedy and son-in-law Ron Murray. Beloved grandmother to Justin (Alisha), Lindsay (Kevin), Katie, Rebecca and Megan. Great-grandmother to Leah, Owen, Austin and Abigail.

Genevieve grew up on a farm in Copenhagen, Ontario and went to High School in Aylmer. She trained as a nurse in St. Thomas and worked at the St. Catherines General and Oakville Trafalgar hospitals. She also nursed at The Kensington retirement home in downtown Oakville. She was a long time member of The Church of the Epiphany.

Genevieve was a lady of many talents. She could cook, sew, paint, garden, decorate, crochet and quilt. She loved card and board games and could be a fierce competitor. She and husband George were unmatched on the dance floor.

In her later years she was felled by several strokes yet maintained her spirit while she made a modest recovery. She dressed impeccably right to the very end. We will all miss Genevieve terribly – but we have so many great memories to cherish. She lived a long and rewarding life and she will be remembered as a good friend, a fine mother and a loving grandmother and great-grandmother.

Visitation will be at the Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home in Oakville from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Thursday November 22.

The funeral will be held at the Church of the Epiphany at 141 Bronte Road in Oakville on Friday, November 23 at 11 a.m.
