HESLOP,  Helen Marie – a long-time resident of Aylmer, Ontario passed away peacefully in her sleep at Woodingford Lodge, Ingersoll on Thursday October 1, 2020 in her 100th year. Predeceased on December 1, 2013 by her beloved husband of 69 years, Robert (Bob) Heslop. Dear mother of John (Tina) Heslop of Burlington, Susan (William) Remington of Woodstock, and Michael Heslop of Dresden. Loving grandmother of Rebecca (Darryl), Kathryn (Steve), Boyd (Ryanne), Tyler (deceased) (Helen), Amy, Lisa (Jeff), Cheri (Chris), Richard (Tania), Robert (Michelle), and Christopher. Also survived by 14 great grandchildren. Survived by sisters Rebecca (Harley deceased) Hotchkiss of Calgary and Eilene (Allan) Crosier of London. Predeceased by brothers Earl Boyd of Walsingham, Don Boyd of Langton, Jim Boyd of Calgary, and sister Thelma Lambrecht of Langton.  Helen was born in Simcoe on August 31, 1921 daughter of the late Gordon and Marion “Mary” Boyd nee Boughner. Helen was a dedicated housewife who also worked for several years in the office at the Imperial Tobacco Company in Aylmer. Her greatest pleasures in life were being with her husband, her family, especially grandkids and great grandkids, fabulous cooking which she had learned from her mother, her large flower garden, numerous trips to Hawaii, yearly vacations to Doe Lake and lastly, even at 99, a glass or even two of nice chardonnay wine. Helen spent endless hours in her huge garden on Treelawn Avenue in Aylmer keeping her husband busy weeding, cultivating and mowing throughout the summer months. She thought nothing of ordering some rare irises, tulips and various shrubs etc. from nurseries as far away as Prince Edward Island.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Wareing Cremation Services, 225 Norwich Ave., Woodstock. A celebration of life and interment next to her husband at the Aylmer Cemetery will be held sometime in the future when COVID conditions permit. The family expresses their sincere appreciation to the gracious management and staff at Woodingford Lodge in Ingersoll for their exceptional treatment and care of Helen over the past three years. Donations to her grandson Tyler’s memorial “Go Fund Me” initiative to give Paediatric Cancer patients and their family a “Blue Jays Getaway”, an all-expenses paid weekend to make happy memories at https://www.gofundme.com/f/67nksaw  or to the St. Paul’s United Church in Aylmer, Ontario would be appreciated.
