EESS girls win one, lose one in playoffs
Katharine Barrie of host East Elgin Secondary School headed the ball during a Thames Valley Southeast girls soccer playoff against Parkside Collegiate Institute, Friday, May 23. The previous day, EESS defeated Ingersoll District Collegiate Institute 2-1 in the opening game of round-robin matches. East Elgin fell 1-0 to Parkside Friday after a penalty kick in the waning minutes of the game. EESS subsequently received its own penalty kick which could have tied the game, but it went wide. Parkside and Ingersoll will play Tuesday, May 27, then records compared to see which of the three teams comes out on top.
