Fallen tree causes power outage

A fallen tree somewhere along Plank Road (Highway 19) south of Tillsonburg and north of Straffordville caused an almost four hour long power outage in east Elgin on Tuesday, June 3.

A Hydro One media release stated the electricity interruption began at 10:10 a.m. and that power to all customers was restored by 2 p.m. after crews cleared the fallen tree and repaired equipment.

A total of 1,434 customers in Vienna, Malahide, Port Burwell and rural Bayham were affected.
