Assumption getting new parking lot
Alan Hogg of Hogg Construction used a laser level to check the grade of the excavation work he was doing on the west side of Assumption Catholic Elementary School in Aylmer on Wednesday morning, July 16. Hogg Construction of Thamesford had been hired by the London District Catholic School Board to construct a new parking lot on that side of the school along South Street East to replace a lot the school was going to lose on the east side of the school off Queen Street. Local developer George Kapogianis planned on turning the southeast corner of the intersection of South Street and Queen Street into two separate semi-detached buildings for a total of four housing units. The property used to be owned by the school board and was once home to four portable classrooms before it was sold to private interests. Mr. Hogg said the parking lot would be completed within a month or sooner.
