Animal hospital gets icy for ALS
Most of the staff of Imperial Road Animal Hospital of Aylmer were drenched in cold water during an Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) after they were done work on Wednesday, Aug. 27. Taking the Challenge in front of their workplace by way of water dropped by the bucket of a front end loader were Maria Deleemans, Dr. Russell Moncrief, Sue Sullivan, Dr. Vern Robertshaw, Katelyn Dehoog, Dr. Amanda Wiltsie-Thoonen, Kacey Wilson, Candy Healy and Melanie Chambers. The staff of Imperial Road Animal Hospital were nominated for the challenge through Facebook by the staff of Aylmer Veterinary Clinic. At least three of the Imperial Road staff had already individually done the Challenge and given money to the ALS Society of Canada. The front end loader was provided by Geo. Wilson and Son Excavating. With every “share” of a video of the Challenge on Imperial Road Animal Hospital’s Facebook page, $1 would be added to the total donation to the ALS Society to a maximum of $500.
