Chickens delight pupils in Springfield

Fifteen teachers and support staff at Springfield Public School, led by Principal Jennifer Burns, right, dressed up as chickens and danced to the Chicken Dance song during an assembly at the school on Friday, Oct. 10. The staff challenged the pupils to raise $500 or more for the Terry Fox Foundation and if they reached the goal, they would dress up and perform the Chicken Dance in front of the entire school population. The pupils more than delivered by raising $838. The Terry Fox Foundation raises money to invest in discovery-based cancer research to hopefully someday find a cure for the disease.
