Complex business plan abandoned
In a joint session on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 15, Aylmer and Malahide councillors both voted to abandon awarding a contract to a consultant to prepare a business plan for East Elgin Community Complex and instead will explore hiring a private firm to manage the operations of the twin ice pad facility.
The clerks with both Aylmer and Malahide were instructed to add a discussion on hiring a third party to run the Complex to their next meeting agendas.
Aylmer council will meet on Monday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. and the next Malahide council meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 22 starting at 7:30 p.m.
