Great fire exhibit debuts at museum
A new exhibit featuring many images and artefacts from the fire that destroyed much of downtown Aylmer on Feb. 27, 1965 had a special preview at the Aylmer-Malahide Museum and Archives on Thursday, Feb. 27 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the event that changed the town forever. Watching a captivating video of the fire were Judy Durkee, left, her husband Don, Larry Jeffery and Carl Milmine. The exhibit, entitled The Holocaust on Main Street, will be available for viewing again when the museum opens to the public for the 2015 season on Monday, March 2 and will run until May 22.
