CWL Christmas Bazaar adds a hot lunch
Volunteers Pauline Morin, left, and Maria Gubbels hammed it up for the photographer as Thea Hermans looked on while they were assembling the hot lunches during the Catholic Women’s League annual Christmas Bazaar held at Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church in Aylmer on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Seen by the oven was head cook Trudy Geling. The CWL volunteers decided to make a hot turkey pot pie lunch this year rather than provide a cold meal. The hot lunch included coleslaw, carrots, pickles and apple crumble for dessert. As in past years, the CWL Christmas Bazaar featured free draws, a silent auction, crafts, gently used toys, clothes and other household goods, “baked food galore” and much more. Proceeds from the event will go towards local charities the CWL supports throughout the year.
