Two hurt in Hwy. 3 bypass crash
A head-on crash on the Highway 3 bypass in St. Thomas on Thursday morning, Feb. 4 has sent the two drivers to hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries.
In a media release, Elgin OPP Constable Troy Carlson stated a Chevy car driven by a St. Thomas woman, 65, was westbound on the Highway 3 bypass between First Avenue and Balaclava Street at about 7:30 a.m. when she pulled out to pass a tractor trailer she was following and collided head-on with an eastbound Mazda car driven by a 35-year-old London woman.
The driver of the Chevy was taken to hospital with “life-threatening injuries” while the driver of the Mazda was transported to hospital with “serious injuries,” Const. Carlson said.
The crash was still under investigation.
