Shoes a-flying at Springwater

Vanessa Riley, 17, of St. Thomas was one of 26 competitors during the annual Secord Home Building Centre Horseshoe Tournament at Springwater Campground southwest of Aylmer on Sunday morning, Aug. 28. Seen behind Ms. Riley was her partner Linda Butler of Windham Centre. Held mostly for the seasonal campers at Springwater Conservation Area, the horseshoe tournament awarded prizes to the top throwers. Ms. Riley said she and her family has camped summers at Springwater for about 10 years while Ms. Butler said she had been camping there for about the same amount of time but only seasonally for the past five years.
