New president for STEGH
The St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital board announced Thursday, Sept. 1, that it will promote current Vice President and Chief of Staff Dr. Nancy Whitmore to be STEGH’s new president and chief executive officer.
She will replace outgoing President Paul Collins, who has held that role for 15 years.
Dr. Whitmore’s salary will be $205,569, the same as Mr. Collins. But under her contract, she will be allowed to continue to practise medicine one day a week, and willbe paid additionally for those services through Ontario Health Insurance Plan, the announcement by board Chairman Melanie Taylor notes.
