Concession stand to re-open at Port Stanley Arena
Physical Services Director Lloyd Perrin told Central Elgin councillors that, as they had ordered, a contractor had been found to operate the concession stand at the Port Stanley Arena.
That stand had been closed, to be replaced by additional vending machines, but user groups lobbied councillors to restore the food concession.
Mr. Perrin said a formal agreement would be presented for approval at council’s meeting Monday, Oct. 17, but Cornerview Cafe of Port Bruce, which also operated concession stands at the East Elgin Community Complex in Aylmer, had offered $1,050 to have the Port Stanley food booth for the rest of the 2016-17 season.
The concession stand should be open starting the weekend of Oct. 20-21, he added.
