March 1 deadline for Edison group
The Friends of Edison have until March 1, 2017 to establish a plan for the future of the Edison Museum in Vienna and to find a storage location for the artifacts.
That was the decision made by Bayham councillors at their Thursday, Oct. 20 meeting after a lengthy public discussion that was paused for a 15-minute closed-door session for them to discuss a “proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land” matter that involved “solicitor-client privilege” in connection to the Edison Museum.
Councillors came out of the secret session with nothing to report.
The resolution approved the 2017 expenses to maintain the current Snow Street Edison Museum building – until March 1 – to come out of the facility’s own reserve. The building has been closed to the public for almost two years because of problems with the foundation.
