Three perfect seasons going into playoffs
East Elgin Secondary School’s Junior and Senior girls basketball teams and Junior football team all completed their regular seasons this year without a single defeat, and are now going into playoffs.
EESS is expected to host Southeast basketball championships all the way through finals, if they keep winning.
The Senior team, which was also undefeated in its previous regular season, will take on East’s fifth-place Ingersoll District Collegiate Institute in a semifinal at East Elgin Tuesday, Nov. 8, at 4:30 p.m.
EESS’s Junior squad will meet East’s fourth-place Woodstock College Avenue in a quarterfinal the same day at East Elgin, at 3 p.m.
The Junior football team, which finished first in the Walzak Division, will take on Darnell’s second-place London Laurier at City Wide Sports Field in London on Thursday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m.
The Senior Football squad, which had a 3-4 record in regular season and finished fifth in Walzak, will meet host Parkside Collegiate Institute, fourth in Darnell with a 3-3 record, in a quarterfinal on Friday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m.
East Elgin’s Junior boys volleyball team, with a 3-4 record in South, will take on 6-2 Woodstock Collegiate Institute at WCI in a quarterfinal Tuesday, Nov. 8, at 4:30 p.m.
And the Senior volleyball team, with a 3-4 record in South, will meet 7-2 Huron Park in Woodstock in a quarterfinal Tuesday, Nov. 8, at 4:30 p.m.
