LINK, Audie Jerome of High River, AB passed away suddenly on August 12, 2019 at the age of 62. Dear father of Britni (Sam) Quinlan of Pincher Creek, AB and Madisson (Forrest) Anderson of Cranbrook, B.C. Loving grandfather of Thomas, Sloan, Reed, Charlotte and Jack. Dear brother of Kim VanDyk of London, Ontario and Karen Link of Lethbridge, AB. Uncle to Danielle (Adam) VanDyk of London, Ontario, Amanda (Darcy) VanDyk Angus of Queensland, Australia, Jodi Layne (Molly) Johnson of Lakewood, Washington and Robyn Cody Johnson of Lethbridge, Alberta. Audie was born in London, Ontario on April 29, 1957 and grew up in Aylmer, Ontario where he made lifelong friends and memories he always cherished. He worked on freight ships sailing the Great Lakes and then joined the Navy and fulfilled his dream of sailing the world. After the Navy, Audie went to Lethbridge College in Lethbridge, AB to become a meat inspector. He lived in Nova Scotia, British Columbia and Alberta and worked for both federal and provincial governments until his retirement in October 2018. Audie was very fortunate to have experienced great friends, loving family, many laughs and travel to numerous countries. His daughters and grandchildren were his greatest joy. Audie was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion in High River, AB and was very passionate about the rights of Canada’s veterans. He was a vice president with the High River Legion Executive Committee and frequently volunteered his time to the Royal Canadian Legion. Audie never failed to spend each Remembrance Day helping in whatever capacity was required to honour past, present and future veterans. He was a true Proud Canadian. There will be no service at this time. A memorial will be held at a later date to allow family from various provinces and countries to gather together.
