Ronald Charles Tanner
July 22, 1962 – December 21, 2024
After a courageous battle with cancer, Ron chose the time and place of his going, peacefully, at his farm near Springfield, Ontario on Saturday, December 21, 2024. Cherished husband of Susan Procop-Tanner and beloved son of Sonja Tanner-Kaplash and Ronald John Tanner, Sr. Ron is also survived by his sister, Traci Anne Pinder, (London), Aunt Phyllis Davis (Beaverton), little brother Jack Procop (Thorndale), much loved cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family in London, British Columbia, Alberta, Toronto, Northern Ontario, Beaverton area, Louisiana and California. Sadly missed by “Becker’s Angels” – his London friends from public school as well as by friends and colleagues at Steelway Building Systems, Aylmer. Ron played high school football at Sir Frederick Banting, attended Fanshawe College in London, and spent most of his career as a Mechanical Engineer CET at firms in Woodstock and the London area. Besides his caring love and devotion to his family, Ron loved his dogs, cats and horses and enjoyed motorcycles and cars, fixing anything that needed it, his many hobbies and interests and especially, his lifelong friends. The family particularly wish to thank Dr. Jim MacLean and Dr. Michael Sanatani, Nurse Julie and the entire oncology team at the Verspeeten Family Cancer Center in London for their unfailingly kind care, as well as the VON nurses who kept Ron comfortable and cheerful and at home. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Verspeeten Family Cancer Center. Per Ron’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A gathering to celebrate his remarkable life will be held at a later date. Ron’s warmth, kindness and adventurous spirit will be forever remembered by all who knew him.
