Alan Armstrong

ARMSTRONG, Alan of Port Stanley and formerly of Dexter passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 20th, 2019, at the age of 88. Dearly loved husband of Margaret (Gordon) Armstrong and dear step-father of Katherine Anne Napier (Gray) and Sheila Margaret Stubbs (Gray). Sadly missed by 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Predeceased by two brothers Leslie and George Armstrong and by two sisters Kathleen McLarty and Jean Burks. Special uncle to Jim, Rob, Kim and Terry. Sadly missed by several cousins and nieces and nephews. Alan was born in Dexter on November 1st, 1930, the son of the late John A. and Ethel Irene (Elson) Armstrong. He was a long time member of Dexter United Church and served a number of years on Church Counsel. He was also a long time member of the Port Stanley Lions Club. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held on Friday July 26th at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Union Cemetery. Visitation Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined. Remembrances may be made to L.C.I.F. (Guide dog training), Salt Haven or Cancer Research.
