Alphonese Laemers

It is with great sadness that the family of Alphonse Laemers announces his passing at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital after a brief illness, on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 in his 90th year. He was preceded in death by his siblings; Mary, Edward, Frank, and Lena and his grandson; Gregory. He leaves his wife of 69 years, Mary (Croxford) Laemers; his sisters Matilda and Dalphine; his sons Steven (Betty), and Frank (Paula); his daughters Christina (Les MacMillan), Jennifer (Emil Hartmann), and Julie (Butch Acre); his grandchildren; Dustin, Jason, Marcia, Mary Ann, Sandra, David, Danny, Alyssa, and Tyler and his 13 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, June 29, at the Saxonia Hall. Memorial donations in memory of Alphonse may be made to “Scouts Canada 1st Port Burwell Scouting” with subject line memorial donation Alphonse Laemers. “Papa” as we called him was an active Scout Leader for many years and he would be thrilled with recognition for this group in his memory.
