Cornelius Dyck
DYCK, Cornelius passed away peacefully in Hinton General Hospital, Hinton, AB. At 9:45 A.M. on Sunday, December 22, 2019. This is the day God chose to call him home. Cornelius was born to his parents David and Katharina (Giesbrecht) Dyck on June 28, 1957, in Cuauhtemoc, Chih. Mexico. He came to Ontario, Canada with his parents in June of 1960. He attended Mt. Salem and Summers Corners Public Schools. He spent his youth and young adult years working in tobacco and for a time as a welder in Clark Equipment, St. Thomas, ON. Cornelius moved out west and lived there for many years. Cornelius is survived by four brothers and their spouses, Peter, Johan, Jacob and David, five sisters, Anna Klassen, Kathy Wiebe, Maria Dyck, Sara Peters, Susan Friesen, four brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law. Also survived by special friend Wendy Mangel, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents David and Katharina Dyck, brothers Benjamin and Isaak, three infant sisters, brother-in-law- George Peters, one niece and one nephew. Cornelius was the father figure to Bradley Kozak and the grandfather figure to Bradley’s two children. He cherished them as his very own. A heartfelt thank you to Cliff and all of the hospital staff for the wonderful care given to Cornelius. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
