Dr. Donald Leslie Wright

WRIGHT, Dr. Donald Leslie of St. Thomas and formerly of Aylmer passed away peacefully at a hospital he enjoyed practicing at, St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, January 5, 2019 in his 95th year. Beloved husband of Ellen “Nell” (Elsey) Wright for 68 wonderful years. Dear father of Diane Zimmer (Bill) of Calgary, Alberta and their children Jeff, Rochelle Gallagher; children Regan and Rowan, and Jessica Maggisano (Nick); children Eden and Orson, Barbara Azzoli (Val) of Montclair, New Jersey and their children Natalie (Sam) and Amanda, Brian Wright (Sylvie Rochon) of Montreal, Quebec and Sheila McLaren (Drew) of Midhurst and their children Jake (Hannah) and Hugh. Brother of Patricia of Toronto. Predeceased by sister Marilyn and brothers-in-law Robert (Muriel) and Norman (Maureen) Elsey.  Born in Toronto, Ontario on June 4, 1924, son of the late George Leslie and Evelyn (Kerr) Wright. Don graduated in 1948 from the University of Manitoba and practiced medicine in Aylmer from 1952-1996. He was a member of the Union Golf and Country Club and the Aylmer and St. Thomas Curling Clubs. Don was proud that he could golf his age at 88. He was an avid gardener. Don and Nell enjoyed nothing more in life than their travels to Myrtle Beach, Bermuda and attending the Masters. They enjoyed many years at the family cottage on Lake Muskoka. A service will be held on Saturday, January 12 at 2 p.m at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1-2 p.m.  Cremation has taken place. Donations to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital would be appreciated. kebbelfuneralhome.com.
