Joyce Helen Greer
GREER, Joyce Helen of Strathroy, formerly a long-time resident of Aylmer, passed away with family by her side at St. Joseph’s Hospice in London on Monday, March 25, 2019 in her 78th year. Dear mother of Steve Greer (Ann) of Strathroy and the late Judy Jans (March 7, 2016). Devoted wife of the late C. Ross Greer for 47 years (1961 – 2008). Loving grandmother of Jeff Greer (Rachel) and Taylor Jans. Great-grandmother of Dax Greer.
Joyce was the daughter of the late Helen and Ernie Buck (2006). She is survived by twin sister Joanne Fehr (late Peter) of Saskatoon, brother Larry Buck (Arlene) of Aylmer, sister Louise Wieler (Peter) of St. Thomas, and sister Deb Travis (Jim) of Port Burwell and nieces Aimee (Stewart), Darcy (Kenny), Devin (Kevin), Shayna and nephews James, Larry. Special mention great nephews/nieces Kaylie, Silas, Kaiden & Rylee.
Joyce is also survived by members of the Greer family, sister-in-law Eileen Greer of London and brother-in-law Randy Greer (Maureen) of Sarnia, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother-in-laws Ron Greer (late Jane), Jerry Greer (Eileen) and Jim Greer.
She proudly worked for 25 years at Ontario Hydro, Aylmer. After retirement, she served for 12 years as a Court Services Officer at the Courthouse in St. Thomas. Retired again, she cared for her beautiful daughter Judy who had MS. Joyce was a devoted caregiver at heart.
Joyce’s passions included looking after the family, helping others, community involvement, and enjoying events with family and friends, including Silas’ baseball games.
Special thanks to the LHSC Cancer Clinic doctors and staff, Dr. Copeland and the Palliative Team, the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice and all others who helped Joyce along the way.
Friends may call at the H.A Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer, on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 11 a.m. Joyce’s wishes are to gratefully decline flowers; remembrances may be made to family and donations to the Aylmer Baptist Church.
