WEBER (nee Stafford), Marlene Mabel –
Passed away peacefully at the F.J. Davey Home on Saturday, May 1, 2021 in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Michael Weber. Loving and caring mother of Michael Weber (Chris), Anne Lamers (Andy), Susan VanderMolen (Ron) and Mark Weber. Proud grandmother of Leanne Suffel (Todd), Jamie Cook (Peter), Brent Weber (Kim), Erin VanderMolen, Stefan Weber (Aidan), Leslie Bridge (Clyde), Christopher Weber (Stefanie) and William Weber. Great grandmother to eleven and one more on the way. Marlene was born in Malahide Township to Lindley and Mabel Stafford, sister to the late Marjorie Sommerville (Carl) and the late Jean Stafford and brother Don Stafford (Tilly). Marlene spent her grade school years at Jaffa Public School and attended East Elgin Secondary School. Her married life was spent farming with her husband and raising their four children on a dairy farm on Highway #3, 3 miles east of Aylmer. Marlene also worked off the farm, in Aylmer at the Imperial Tobacco Company, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Terrace Lodge. Marlene was an avid gardener and an excellent horsewoman. She spent many hours with her friends and horses over the years and belonged to horse clubs including Straffordville, Orwell and Golden Ribbons. She took Reigning Classes and participated in Team Penning held at Walker Farms and also judged at local horse shows. She was a member and supporter of the Aylmer Fair Board and was always up for riding her horses in the Aylmer Parades. In retirement Marlene also spent time volunteering at the Salvation Army Store in Tillsonburg. Marlene spent the last 8 1/2 years in Sault Ste. Marie with family close by. Her family are very thankful for the welcoming community, staff and friends she made at Chartwell Collegiate Heights Retirement Residence and the Great Northern Retirement Home. They are also very thankful to all the staff of the F.J. Davey Home who cared for Marlene in the last few years of her life, especially the Angels of Apple 2. Many thanks to all the medical doctors and staff who attended her in Sault Ste. Marie and at the Sault Area Hospital. Marlene will be truly missed by family, friends and all those she touched in her life. Memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) can be made in her memory to the F.J. Davey Home or a Charity of your choice. Due to Covid restrictions at this time the family are planning Celebrations of Life for Marlene at some time in the future, both in Sault Ste.
