Mary Elizabeth Beard

BEARD, Mary Elizabeth (McConkey). As she lived… peacefully, on Thursday August 8, 2019 at T.D.M.H. Mary (McConkey) Beard of Tillsonburg, formerly of the Corinth Richmond area, passed away at the age of 88. Daughter of the late Neil and Edna McConkey, sister to Pauline MacDonald of Guelph, predeceased by brother Harold. She had 64 years of wonderful marriage with late husband George.  Survived by much loved and cherished children George (Sally), Anne, Wayne (Jennifer), Greg (Deb). The rest of her Beard clan Matthew & Amanda and family, Nick & Marie and family, Jeremey, Alex & Carole and family, Darin & Rene and family, Nathan & Kelly, Lauren, Jason & Nicole, Erin.  Many cousins, nieces and nephews, especially the MacDonalds, McConkeys, Loneys, Hermans and Beards. Her four legged lap warmer, puppy Kneesha. Mary loved her gardening, never losing touch with her youth on the farm.  A member of the Tillsonburg Horticultural Society, UCW and church council, and the Women’s Institute.  She sang for many years in The Tillsonburg Seniors Choir and St Paul’s United Church choir. She was an accomplished seamstress and knitter. Mary always kept family and community as top priorities in her life, ever the eager volunteer, a mindset she instilled in her children. The Beard Clan welcomes friends and family to attend a Celebration of Life on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at 12:30pm at the Corinth Community Park, lunch and eulogy at 1pm.  All are welcome to attend an inurnment of George and Mary at the Best Cemetery, Corinth, immediately following.
