Search ended for Alaskan hiker with Aylmer ties

The search for Sharon Buis, 48, formerly of Aylmer, was called off by Alaska State Troopers on Thursday, May 29.

The Anchorage Daily News, along with other media sources in the state, stated Ms. Buis was reported missing the night of Saturday, May 24.

She was supposed to meet a friend that morning for a planned group hike on the Mount Roberts trail near Juneau.

Her car was found at the Mount Roberts trailhead.

State troopers announced the search had been called off but a missing persons case would remain open.
