Largest Aylmer Remembrance Day in years

AyRemDay2A large parade of hundreds, mostly Ontario Police College cadets and staff, marched from Royal Canadian Legion, Colonel Talbot Branch 81 (Aylmer) on John Street North to the Cenotaph beside town hall on Talbot Street West and joined many local residents for the annual Remembrance Day ceremony and wreath laying on Tuesday morning, Nov. 11. The large crowd crammed into the area in front of the Aylmer Cenotaph for the over half-hour ceremony. Remembrance Day 2014 marks the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the First Great War while next year’s Remembrance Day will mark the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second Great War.
