Joint meeting on Complex two weeks away

A joint meeting between Aylmer and Malahide councillors to discuss proposals to reinstate hall rentals and summer ice at East Elgin Community Complex in essentially the same way as always won’t be taking place until sometime after March 16.

That was the decision by Aylmer councillors during their meeting on Monday, March 2. The two municipalities share ownership of the Complex.

Mayor Greg Currie proposed that the joint council meeting not be held until sometime after the Monday, March 16 town council meeting.

He suggested either having the meeting that same evening after the town council meeting or in the days following.

By that time, town councillors will have met three times as finance committee, to work on the 2015 draft budget.

Those meetings are scheduled for Wednesday, March 4, Monday, March 9 and Thursday, March 12, all beginning at 4:30 p.m.
