Elgin OPP Sunshine List at 44 officers

The Ontario Provincial Police pay hike in 2013 increased the number of Elgin OPP officers earning over $100,000 to 44 in 2014, up more than 60 percent from the year before.

The annual “Sunshine List” of Ontario public sector workers making over $100,000 increased by about 13.9 percent in 2014 over the year before.

There were 111,438 civil servants in Ontario that made $100,000 or more in 2014 compared with 97,796 in 2013.

The annual public reporting of provincial and municipal employee salaries over $100,000 threshold was established in 1996 and applies to organizations that receive transfer payments from the Ontario government of at least $1-million or 10 percent of their gross revenues, provided the transfer amount is $120,000 or more.
