Summer ice will make its return to Complex

While the recorded vote wasn’t unanimous, the majority of elected officials in Aylmer and Malahide agreed to provide ice rentals at East Elgin Community Complex this June and July.

The decision was made during the Wednesday, Nov. 4 meeting of the Complex Interim Board which is made up of all Aylmer and Malahide councillors.

Voting in favour of having the ice remain in one of the arenas in June and July 2016 were all seven Aylmer councillors and four of the Malahide councillors.

Only Malahide Deputy Mayor Mike Wolfe and Councillor Chester Glinski voted against the motion.

Voting in favour were Aylmer Mayor Greg Currie, Deputy Mayor Mary French and councillors Sheri Andrews, Pete Barbour, Ann Laur, Ted McDonald and Arthur Oslach.

Also voting in favour were Malahide Mayor Dave Mennill and councillors Rick Cerna, Mark Wales and Mark Widner.

Malahide Cr. Max Moore did not attend the meeting.
