Remembering Jeremiah Krahn at Davenport PS

saidatshowDavenport Public School Grade 6 pupil Riley Guilbeault, left, gets some help from motivational speaker and entertainer Saidat Vandenberg with a fun timed challenge involving cup “juggling” during an assembly at the Aylmer school on Thursday afternoon, Nov. 10. Ms. Vandenberg has launched a new slogan, “The Jeremiah Effect,” for The Saidat Show for the 2016-17 school year. Ms. Vandenberg is honouring and remembering former Aylmer resident Jeremiah Krahn, a life-long friend of hers who died in an automobile crash north of St. Thomas on Aug. 5, 2016. Mr. Krahn was 20 at the time. Ms. Vandenberg said Mr. Krahn was known as one of the most respectful, friendly and accepting individuals who impacted the people in his life with kindness. She launched her new The Saidat Show at Davenport PS that day with Mr. Krahn’s parents, Herman and Maribel, and his sister Moriah in the audience. Ms. Vandenberg’s new hour-long presentation entitled “I Can Survive School” includes fun games, audience participation, music and dancing along with key messaging about inclusion, mental health and “having a growth mindset.”
