Hundreds turn out for Aylmer Remembrance Day service

Aylmer Mayor Greg AyRemembranceCurrie, right, laid a wreath with assistance by a member of the 741 Air Cadets during the Remembrance Day ceremony in downtown Aylmer at the Cenotaph on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Over 500 attended the ceremony and packed Talbot Street for the service that included the laying of several wreaths, the singing of O Canada and God Save the Queen, prayers and scripture readings and musical performances by the Aylmer Area Community Band and the East Elgin Secondary School Band. A parade from the Royal Canadian Legion, Colonel Talbot Branch 81 (Aylmer) to the Cenotaph with about 400 marchers, including all of the cadets from the Ontario Police College, proceeded the ceremony.
