Sex assault charge laid against Waterloo officer from time at Police College

A Waterloo Regional Police officer has been charged with sexual assault by the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) stemming from an incident that allegedly took place at the Ontario Police College in April 2015.

The male detective constable is scheduled to appear in a St. Thomas court on July 26.

“The matter is now properly before the courts,” a media release issued on Wednesday, June 15 by the SIU stated. “In consideration of the fair trial interests of the accused, the SIU will make no further comment.”
