Spitfires edged by Navy Vets

The Spitfires lost 2-1. Shane Kocsis-Cochrane scored Aylmer’s lone goal near the end of the first period to tie the game with assists by Dylan Buckholz and Dustin Dunlop. Woodstock notched the winning goal with 3:22 left in the third period. Dan Haig scored both Woodstock goals with Andrew Bruder recording assists on each tally. The Spitfires have two more home exhibition games: Wednesday, Aug. 31 versus Burford, game time of 7:15 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 11 against Norwich, puck drop at 7:30 p.m. The Spitfires’ regular season home opener will be Saturday, Sept. 17 when they host North Middlesex, a 7:30 p.m. start.
