Crash south of Vienna critically injures man

A single-vehicle crash south of Vienna on Saturday evening, Sept. 3, sent one 20-year-old man to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police Constable Adam Crewdson said the crash occurred at about 8:10 p.m. on Plank Road (Highway 19) near Tunnel Line.

A Volkswagen GTI was travelling north on Plank Road, passed over Teal Nevill Line when it left the road and rolled “numerous times,” Const. Crewdson said.

A 20-year-old Tillsonburg man was charged with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood causing bodily harm, careless driving and young driver, blood alcohol content above zero.
