Serious crash west of Aylmer

crashnearorwellMalahide volunteer firefighters, Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police officers and Elgin-St. Thomas Emergency Medical Services paramedics responded to a two-vehicle crash west of Aylmer on Talbot Line (Highway 3) just east of Orwell on Saturday morning, Sept. 17. This photo was taken shortly after 10 a.m. Talbot Line was closed between the entrances of Temperance Line and would remain so for an unspecified amount of time. Constable Liz Melvin of the OPP said the crash involved an eastbound car and a westbound truck hauling a loaded trailer. The driver of the car was transported by ambulance to hospital with life threatening injuries. His condition was listed as serious on Monday morning, Sept. 19. The road was wet at the time of the crash as it had been raining most of that morning.

There is a discrepancy between the St. Thomas Times-Journal and the Aylmer Express. Were the injuries life threatening or non-life threatening?
Also, will there be an update regarding the outcome of the investigation?
