Marion Kiddie
We sadly announce the passing of Marion Kiddie, in the early evening of Saturday, May 23, 2020 with her daughter Penni and Minister John Twinem by her side. In her 93rd year, she was a lifelong resident of Springfield and member of Springfield Baptist Church, living at her current address for over 65 years. She was an accomplished homemaker, 4H leader, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and good friend. She enjoyed knitting and sewing, playing the piano and social card games. The special touches of Halloween fudge and Christmas shortbread cookies always made the holidays special.
She is predeceased by her husband, Gordon (1987) and her dear friend and companion Edmund Thompson (2018), as well as parents Arthur (1980) and Ethel (1963) Beach and eldest sister Margaret Charlton (2013). Her life lives on through daughter Penni and her husband, Doug MacVicar and son, Tim; as well as five grandchildren Ryan(Meg), Brandon(Sachiko), Bryanne(Corey), Tessa and Nolan. She was truly blessed with 4 great-grandchildren Atticus, Luna, Soren and Ezra. She is also survived by her younger sister, Georgina (Bruce) Hutchison of Elmira and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to neighbours Todd and Lisa, Nancy for the weekly delivery of the Aylmer Express, Deb for the drives to church, Wendy for the outings and lunches, as well as church members Lorraine and Lynn for their regular visits. The staff of C and D unit at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital were outstanding through this time and a special thanks to nurses Julie and Henriette for the updates and exceptional care given through the quarantine. We do have sadness at this time but feel fortunate that ‘mom’ was able to be independent and able to enjoy life until these past few weeks. A private family funeral service will be held at the the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. The funeral will be available on the Kebbel Funeral Home YouTube channel. Interment, Springfield Cemetery.
