Douglas Whaley
Whaley – Douglas Miles “Doc” of St. Thomas, passed away suddenly at his residence on Wednesday, February 14th, 2024 at the age of 73. Loved son of the late Russell and Freda (Baxter) Whaley. Dear brother of Lon Whaley (Ann) of Britt. Predeceased by brothers, Tony and Bill and niece Jennifer. Survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Dear brother-in-law of Fran and Marilyn and his children Krista and Tyson. Doug was born in St. Thomas, on July 30th, 1950. He owned and operated a restaurant and later worked as a millwright by trade at Otter Valley in Tillsonburg, Meridian in Strathroy and Thermodisc in St. Thomas. Doug was a character and enjoyed social activities, cooking, fishing, football, playing baseball for the Aylmer Orioles and belonged to a local pool league. He was a skilled player and competed in Ontario Tournaments.
